With XMedia it is possible to store any type of file. When stored, most file types will provide previews to give users a quick overview of images, videos, Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign documents stored in the system.
In order to enable users to produce high quality graphic material direct from their web browser, XMedia provides the option to create user-editable versions of Adobe InDesign documents. This means that users are able to place their own text and images in the layout provided by the brand manager, and so need to care only about content and nothing else. The brand manager retains control of the appearance of company-branded templates, while the user has the freedom to pick from pre-approved assets and place them in the layout – and also to alter text without worrying about using an incorrect font. It is an easy and straightforward way to producing industry grade, professional material.
With XMedia there is no need for expensive InDesign licenses, installing Fonts locally etc. Everything is done via the web browser on the user's computer.
Templates can be anything; posters, signs, ads, flyers, brochures, etc. As a result, the marketing department has complete control of the way in which branded assets are presented. Each template can be configured to allow users to make certain changes within the framework of the original template, for instance by changing images or altering text.
When a user is done editing a template, the finished artwork can be downloaded either as an InDesign-package or as a PDF file optimized for the specific output. PDFs are created according to industry standards, or it is possible to apply customized PDF-presets. The latter can be extremely useful when partnering with a specific print shop.
XMedia templates can be put into approval-workflows ensuring that no finished artwork PDFs are released before a brand manager have approved it. Workflows are further described in the Workflow-module.
